Jacob Ricketts was born about 1725 in Maryland. He was the son of Benjamin Ricketts. When his father died he inherited the home plantation which was probably Rattlesnake Den. It was to go to his son, Robert, after his death. Robert also received
Jacob Ricketts appeared in the Assessment of 1783 for Montgomery County, Maryland in the Upper Newfoundland or Seneca Hundred. At the time of the 1790 census, Jacob was in Montgomery County, Maryland.
